Holiday Decor and Lighting Guidelines

Drive Slow. Protect Our Wildlife.

One of the best things about living in Promontory is sharing our space with incredible wildlife – rabbits, porcupines, squirrels, and especially this time of year, deer and elk. While we love seeing them in our yards and open space, seeing them on our roads is a different story. Each animal reacts differently to approaching cars and it’s best to let the animal clear the road first before passing. PLEASE, for your safety and the preservation of our animals, use caution and SLOW DOWN.

Visitor Registration

Members: If you have guests or service personnel that will be visiting, please register them on Promontory’s Dwelling Live system or contact the gatehouse at 435-333-4035. This allows you to register temporary or permanent guests.  It even allows you to get an email as someone goes through the gate.
Dwelling Live now has an app for your phone!

Help Ensure Promontory Remains a Safe and Family-Friendly Community

Reminder that, pursuant to the CCR’s and the Conservancy’s Policy Regarding Pets, owner’s pets are not permitted to roam free on Promontory grounds at any time.  Accordingly, please keep all animals on leashes when exploring trails and properly contained when at home.  For those that neglect to do so, the Conservancy Board will be forced to take enforcement action pursuant to its policies, as the safety of all Promontory residents is always our top priority. Any interaction between the native wildlife (elk and the like) and pets who are running unattended could be very dangerous.

Driving the Streets in Promontory

All vehicles driven on Promontory Roadways must be driven by a licensed driver. Although they are gated, Promontory’s streets are made subject to the traffic laws of the State of Utah by these rules. Traffic laws may be enforced by the Summit County Sheriff’s Department and violations are also subject to penalties imposed by the Conservancy. ATVs, snow mobiles, and the like shall never be driven on Promontory’s open space, trails, and/or golf courses.

DRIVEWAY PARKING

Please reserve the driveway space at your home for parking conventional automobiles only.  Non-conventional vehicles and recreational toys, such as motor homes, campers, boats, trailers, motorcycles, must be parked in your garage so as to be completely hidden from view or at an off-site storage facility.  Recognizing the need for some flexibility, the Conservancy will allow a one-hour window wherein these items may be parked in the driveway for loading, unloading, and cleaning.

Promontory Drone Policy – Please be advised Of the drone policy
Community Dumpsters are available to all members and owners at the Equestrian Center.
PLEASE REMEMBER:  “Firearms and all other weapons of any kind are not permitted on Club Property at any time except when carried by security or law enforcement personnel on active duty.”

Tips for Walking the Trails of Promontory

  • Bring water, wear the right shoes, sunscreen, & a hat
  • Always hike with another person. When you are out on the trails you may see wildlife. Blue birds, birds of prey, deer and elk as well.  We have a habitat that sustains a wide variety of wildlife. With this in mind, it is also important that you keep your dog on a leash at all times, not only for your pet’s protection but, also for the safety and well-being of the wildlife around us. At no time (unless you are at Promontory’s dog park) is your pet to be unleashed.
  • Coyotes are not uncommon and from time to time we can also have cougars.  It is important that we all take the time to educate ourselves about living with wildlife. The State of Utah DNR has a great website that does just that.  Should you ever see coyotes, badgers, or cougars here at Promontory, please call or email Joe Ellis and let him know the location so that we may report such sightings to the DNR immediately for advice and help.

PROMONTORY IS A
NON – TIPPING CLUB.

For the convenience of all members, a service charge percentage, as determined from time to time by the Club, will be added to all food and beverage sales. A member may increase or decrease the service charge percentage by signing the ticket invoice and changing the amount of the service charge as the member deems appropriate. i.e., your receipt will show the variations of either 15%, 18%, or 20% service charge–simply circle the appropriate percentage and the charge will be added to your food bill.

If you don’t circle a percentage the service charge automatically defaults to 18%.

If you choose to increase the service charge over 20% or under 15% you must write in the full dollar amount… for example: if your food bill is $50 and you want to leave a 25% service charge you would write $12.50 on the service charge line.

The service fees are divided between our food & beverage staff.

Member Spotlight – Manske Family

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

The Manske Family

The Manske Family

This social family of four loves spending time together and also enjoys meeting new people. Please give a big welcome to our newest members, Craig, Sue, Chris, and Jennifer.

Craig is the Co-Founder and Managing Principal for Development Solutions, Inc. a leading Chicago-based commercial construction and project management firm that he co-founded in 1992. Throughout his career he has constructed or renovated over 30,000,000 square feet of building space. He received his Bachelor of Administration degree and Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Craig loves to ski and fly fish and has been coming to Park City for over 10 years.

Sue is the Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for the MacArthur Foundation and is the 57th ranked CIO in the world. She is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with an MBA from Marquette University. Sue likes to hike and workout and she doesn’t ski yet but is looking forward to learning this winter on the “Greatest Snow on Earth”.

They now call Chicago home but Sue and Craig are both born and raised cheeseheads. It’s because of Tuesday afternoons spent at the local watering hole in Wisconsin that they met. Craig and his good friend played golf every Tuesday then they would go down to the watering hole to enjoy a few beers. Soon the secret got out and the watering hole was filled with young adults every Tuesday evening. Craig’s friend worked with Sue and invited her to join and well, the rest is history! They have been married for 34 years and have two kids, Chris and Jennifer.

Their oldest, Chris, is 28 and followed in his dad’s footsteps and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in finance and real estate. He now works in London for Heitman, a real estate investment management firm and travels all around Europe buying apartment and office buildings.

Jen is 25 and a singer-songwriter who under her stage name, Straed, released her debut EP Album, “The Dalliance” in 2015. She spent two years at the University of Miami and two years at Columbia College in Chicago and graduated with a degree in Jazz performance. Although music is her passion she works for Penn Mutual in Chicago as their agency operations manger, managing the internal office process.

Recently the Manskes decided they wanted to spend more time in the beautiful mountains of Park City. They were looking for a club that offers great amenities and has a very social environment. Sue found the perfect house in Promontory while searching on Zillow with the club amenities and social environment to go with it! They love the healthy lifestyle found in Park City and plan to retire here in a few years. The family is looking forward to spending their first Christmas here at Promontory and excited to meet other members so be sure to say “Hi” when you see them this holiday season.

Member Spotlight – Boyer Family

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

The Boyer Family

The Boyer Family

To the Boyers Park City is nothing new but Promontory is the next best thing! Mike, Sarah, and their daughters, Olivia, and Abby have lived in Park City since 2006 when they decided to head west to enjoy the mountains as well as continue their careers in medicine.
They both practice at The University of Utah – Mike is a pediatric and adult bone marrow transplant specialist and Sarah is a developmental pediatrician. Their oldest, Olivia, is 23 and following in mom and dad’s footsteps in medicine. She is currently enrolled in a post graduate nursing program at the University of Arizona and excited for her future. 22-year-old, Abby, recently graduated from St. Olaf College in Minnesota and is working as a legal assistant in an immigration office in St. Paul.
Mike is from Indianapolis and Sarah is from St. Paul and although they do at times miss living in the midwest, Park City has stolen their hearts and there’s never a shortage of relatives and friends who want to visit. They enjoy mountain biking, hiking, and going out to eat with friends at the rich array of restaurants Park City provides.
For years they attended the Park City Showcase of Homes and saw many beautiful homes in Promontory. Once their girls graduated from Park City High School they decided to sell their home in Glenwild and bought a lot in Bison Bluffs. Mike enjoys architecture and is currently designing their new Promontory home.
We are so happy to have you a part of our community, Mike, Sarah, Olivia, and, Abby and look forward to the completion of your home in Bison Bluffs.
