The Fall Color Offers A Back Drop For Endless Mountain Activities

I grew up surrounded by hillsides of bright reds, oranges, and yellows in a New England state famous for its foliage. Autumn meant soccer, apple cider, leaf piles, pumpkins, sweaters, and Halloween. I became a fall enthusiast and a somewhat of a foliage connoisseur. When I moved to Utah, I quickly learned that the biggest differences between a New England fall and a Park City fall is that fall in Park City is drier and longer, meaning there is even more time to enjoy everything the season has to offer.
Look no further for the season’s optimal activities. Cool nights combine with warm, glowing, midday sun to provide temperatures that are ideal for hiking, biking, golfing, al fresco dining. I discovered Promontory Club, a private club for Members has it all…the seemingly endless miles of trails at Promontory provide scenic tours of the trees that start to blush pink before turning vibrant red and orange. A late-season mountain bike ride on the Princess Di trail circumnavigating Promontory’s extensive property will take you through a golden yellow Aspen grove and offer views of Rockport Reservoir.

If you are not yet overly frustrated from trying all summer to get a tiny ball into a tiny hole that is really far away, you have a few more days to tackle Promontory’s two renowned golf courses! Strive for one last perfect drive so that the memory of that feeling can carry you through the winter until opening day. After a day of hiking, biking, or golfing this fall, pour yourself a mug of hot, mulled cider and cuddle up in front of one of Promontory’s inviting outdoor fire pits. Reminisce about your perfect fall day with family and friends and keep your eyes peeled for the herds of elk that are migrating across Promontory this time of year.

Autumn is a season to celebrate! At Promontory and in the Park City area the celebration of color is everywhere. Even the trees participate in the festivities by decorating the mountains with beautiful shades of red and orange. And just when you think that fall is coming to a close, the Aspens put their exclamation point on the season by exploding into a vibrant yellow. So get outside and enjoy the colors and the fun. #Love fall. #Love Promontory.
