It’s hard to believe we finally made the move to Park City, Utah! Well, not just Park City, but Promontory! Seeing the excitement on our kids’ faces the other morning when marveling at an elk herd grazing near our home was one of many awe-inspiring moments that validated the decision to move here. Living at Promontory is akin to being on a safari every day. Katie has started to recognize our repeat visitors and has given them names. Jack is endlessly entertained by the yelping coyotes he can hear off in the distance.

After several visits to Park City over the years with our son and daughter for skiing and eventually for summer recreation, we decided to sell our home in Laguna Beach, CA. It’s true what locals have told us over the years – there’s no better place than Promontory and Park City to raise your kids and enjoy a healthy, active, and enriching lifestyle.

My husband, Steven, and I are Southern California natives, but like many others, we grew tired of the congestion, traffic, and exorbitant taxes. We have discovered Park City’s great accessibility thanks to its proximity to the Salt Lake City airport (we enjoy traveling and Steven travels a couple of times a month for work) and its year-round cultural and recreational activities that enrich the lives of all our family and friends. And speaking of “year round,” we love experiencing the change of seasons, each of which is so beautiful.

We explored many local communities and neighborhoods and the various Park City luxury real estate offerings, but none wowed every member of our family quite like Promontory did. When not skiing, our 11 year-old, Katie, loves horseback riding and all the activities at the Kids’ Cabin, and our 14-year-old, Jack is an avid mountain biker who is looking forward to getting out with his dad on Promontory’s extensive network of trails that are connected to Park City’s astounding 400 miles of trails. Steve is a diehard golfer and all-around great athlete, and I enjoy the spa, the great classes at the fitness center, and hiking the trails. This summer, I have vowed to start mountain biking!

We have friends and family all over the country, so it was important to us to land in a place that is easy and enticing to visit. Moving a family can be daunting, so after a thorough visit to Promontory, we determined our best, most convenient option was to purchase one of the new, super modern golf villas with views of Deer Valley and the Jack Nicklaus Painted Valley Golf Course. The convenience of choosing a floor plan that fit our own needs and desire to entertain friends and family – and opting for interior design services – was truly dreamy and hassle-free. And the large windows allow us to take in the spectacular mountain and golf course views… and so much light that we truly appreciate now that we have entered daylight saving time!

I have had a blast entertaining house guests already – everyone wants to visit when you move to the first-rate destination like Park City! The stunning kitchen’s gorgeous, high-end Wolf appliances help me cook everything to perfection and inspire me to master new recipes. We and our guests appreciate the second master suite, so they have their own space and privacy. I love the ample and beautifully designed closet space and the two-car garage, all of which helps us minimize the clutter. One acquires a lot of gear when living in a place like Park City, so all of the storage space is well used!

Now that spring is upon us, we are highly anticipating moving our entertaining outdoors to the spacious patio where we can grill our dinners and enjoy drinks around the fire pit. We are excited to meet more neighbors at various social gatherings and share our Promontory adventures with you through this blog.
