Park City Art Scene
These galleries cater to everything from traditional works of art to far more avant-garde art exhibitions in Park City.
Here is a quick Promontory overview of the leading Park City art galleries, in our humble opinion…
Terzian Galleries
You’ll find many contemporary artwork pieces on display here, including oil, bronze and glass. Terzian Galleries opened its doors in 2004, and has been a hit with visitors and locals ever since.
Silver Queen Fine Art
A visit to the Silver Queen Fine Art gallery will expose you to the works of more than 20 established and emerging artists, with names such as Nano Lopez and Michael Parks blending in with talented local artists including Grant Fuhst and Todd Anderson. Their eclectic range of artwork is on display, and now open for nine years, Silver Queen Fine Art is a well established Park City attraction for art aficionados from all walks of life.
Gallery Mar
This gallery displays the works of accomplished artists, mixed with pieces created by local artists, too. Oil and acrylic paintings feature quite prominently, but you will also find sculptures, ceramic pieces and mixed media pieces. You’ll find exhibits by Ryan Brown, Rob Colvin, Fran Nicholson and Ginger Bowen, among many others. Gallery Mar has an e-newsletter, to keep you up to date with any coming exhibitions or events.
Kimball Art Center
You won’t have to look very hard to find this art centre located in the heart of downtown on Main Street. A non-profit organization, the gallery was established in 1976 by Bill Kimball when he decided to transform an abandoned garage into a centre for visual arts. This center also hosts the Kimball Arts Festival, which attracts more than 40,000 visitors each year.
Coda Gallery
The Coda Gallery is located on Lower Main Street in Park City, and has been a solid favorite with visitors for more than 15 years. Some of the artists featured include John De Wit, Silvia David, Bruce Cody, Mark Bowles, Phill Evans and Marty Goldstein. The pieces on exhibition range from furniture to lighting, but you will also find paintings and sculpture works as well.
If you can’t decide which galleries you’d like to spend time browsing through, there is a perfect solution – the Park City Gallery Stroll. This takes places on the last Friday of every month, and combines an artistic outing coupled with light refreshments. The stroll offers the chance to see the very latest pieces by local artists and visiting guest artists. We thoroughly recommend it.
So, there you have our run down on our favorite art galleries in Park City. As you can see, there’s a very broad range of attractions available for your artistic pleasure.
