The Hills at Promontory
A Forrest Richardson Design

Golf Course Architect Forrest Richardson, with design partner Jeff Danner, have crafted an exciting design concept for Promontory’s third golf course, The Hills. With a full 18-hole experience, this unique course with all par-3 holes inspired by some of the greatest holes in golf across the globe will appeal to players of all skill level. Three of the new holes on The Hills Course play over 200 yards from the tips.

The Hills was designed with the ultimate in water conservation and environmental sustainability in mind. Crafted into the natural topography with surrounding sage and boulder outcrops, The Hills course consists of just 30 acres of total turf, with 15 acres on the tees and greens plus another 15 acres for the range, golf academy and practice areas. The new Hills Course, Golf Academy, and 18-hole putting course will usher in a new era at Promontory.

The Hills at Promontory
A Forrest Richardson Design

We are grateful to our Promontory golf course maintenance crews who kept our two championship courses in tip top shape this year. It has been a terrific season of golf for sure and the feedback has been that the courses have been in excellent shape all year. Mother Nature was also quite cooperative with several summer storms that allowed us to keep our turf green and healthy despite the local drought restrictions.

With the unpredictability of mother nature, there is a lot to accomplish in a short time. If you are interested in knowing what it takes to prep the golf courses for the winter, please read Chuck O’Nan’s, Director of Agronomy, letter below.
