Chef Ben Tribute

As Chef Ben prepares to move to the Philippines and take care of family responsibilities there, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for his dedication and friendship. While we will miss his culinary creations dearly, it is the presence of Chef Ben himself that we will miss the most. After 11 years at Promontory, his dedication and passion for his craft have truly left an indelible mark on all of us.

Chef Ben’s culinary career began at his family’s own restaurant. Over the years, he honed his skills working in various establishments, from restaurants to hotels and merchant ships where he eventually found his way to us at Promontory.

It was through the encouragement of his former executive chef friend that Chef Ben applied in 2013 for a position at Promontory Club, where he began his journey. Initially, he served as sous chef at The Hearth for almost three years before being invited to cook for Mr. Najafi and join The Peak.

Throughout his time here, Chef Ben’s hard work and perseverance have been evident in every dish he crafted. His commitment to excellence and his willingness to learn and grow have inspired us all. Beyond his culinary talents, Chef Ben brought a sense of camaraderie to our team, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone felt valued.

To Mr. Najafi, Patrick Lowe, Byron Ellenburg, and everyone who has supported Chef Ben along the way, we express our deepest gratitude. Chef Ben, as you embark on this new chapter, know that you will always have a place here with us at Promontory. Your legacy will continue to inspire us, and we wish you nothing but the best in all your future endeavors.

Flights and Bites is a new concept being introduced at Promontory. It will take place each month at the Dye lounge. This is a monthly casual “happy hour” event where participants come together to sit and taste various libations. You can enjoy the flight at any point within the 2-hour window and it will take around 30-45 minutes to complete. Each month, the focus will be on a different libation from both local, national, and global sources. The drink will be paired with a bite to complement its flavor. This month’s event will focus on wine with pairing of chocolates and cheese.

Elevated Snowshoe and Yoga Picnic

Wednesday, March 13th

We will begin our day at 10:30 am with a 1-hour guided beginner-intermediate snowshoe adventure through the scenic trails of Promontory. Following the snowshoeing, we will have an elevated personal picnic where everyone will receive their own box from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. We will then conclude our adventure with a one-hour stretch and meditation session on the heated patio of the Outfitter’s cabin. Join us on this journey where we nourish both the body and mind through movement, nature, and nourishment!

We have limited snowshoes available so to be sure you have a pair, please bring your own.

Dining reservations can be made from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm daily by calling our central reservation number at 435-333-4006. Reservations can also be made via the Promontory App (for parties of 4 or less) or by emailing reservations@promontoryclub.com. However, for reservations requested after 3:30 pm, we kindly ask members to contact the specific restaurant hostess stand directly. This will ensure a seamless booking process and allow you to speak directly with our attentive staff at the hostess stand. Reservations strongly suggested at Hearth, Peak and Sage.

Updated Nordic Trail Map – The Promontory Nordic Park ski track at the Nicklaus Golf Course has been groomed and is finally open, although more snow is needed before the crews can begin regular grooming. Crews have added a figure eight loop in the middle of the Nicklaus driving range in addition to the other groomed trails.

Sage Modern Italian Restaurant

Inside The Hills Clubhouse, our new Sage Modern Italian restaurant will be open for dinner 5pm – 9pm, Thursday – Monday (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays)

Dining reservations for Sage are now open. For the first 1-2 weeks, reservations for dining may booked by calling the reservation desk at 435-333-4006 or emailing reservations@promontoryclub.com. The reservation desk is manned 9:00am – 3:30pm daily. Messages and emails received after hours will be returned the following business day in the order received. After 3:30pm on days the restaurant is open, the Sage hostess may be reached at 435-962-9905.
We will be managing the nightly covers and growing to full capacity over the coming weeks, at which time we will turn on the online booking tool via the App or Member Website for parties of 4 or less. Parties greater than 4 will still use the reservation desk or direct restaurant number for booking, consistent with our other restaurants.
