The Wire 5/4/2023- Promontory’s Newsletter

The Week of May 4, 2023

Our weekly newsletter for all things Promontory!

  • Book Nook Spring Refresh: Stop by the Hotspot Cafe to check out our Book Nook – Promontory’s ‘leave a book, take a book’ community library! Please feel free to donate your favorite used books to the Concierge at the Village Clubhouse.
  • During this period of high snow melt and run off, please exercise caution when accessing any trails or terrain. Trails near ravines should be avoided as they could be dangerous in these conditions. GIVEN THE EXTREME WINTER CONDITIONS AND HIGH SNOW FALL EXPERIENCED THIS YEAR, PLEASE ALSO BE AWARE OF LARGE SNOW ACCUMULATION ON YOUR PROPERTY, RUN OFF PATTERNS DURING MELTING AND LOW GROUND CONDITIONS (ESPECIALLY WINDOW WELLS AND BASEMENTS) THAT COULD BE SUSEPTIBLE TO FLOODING.

HAPPENING THIS WEEK

Sage Hills MVC Road Work

Beginning Monday, May 8th, contractors will be working on essential utility connections across Promontory Ranch Road, east of The Palisades neighborhood and close to the entrances into The Hills Golf Course and Clubhouse. Additional safety measures will be in place including the use of flaggers during active construction.

Please be alert and exercise extra caution when driving through that construction area. We recognize that this is primary source of traffic into and out of the community. The team will work as efficiently as possible to minimize the total days of traffic disruption. Thank you for your patience and attention.

Member Mixer

Thursday, May 11th
5:00 pm – 6:00 pm at The Hearth

Join us at our next mixer and get to know your fellow members. Member Mixers are a great way to make some new friends or even reconnect with old ones! Appetizers and soft drinks included. Beer & wine will be available for purchase.

NEW THIS WEEK

2023 Golf Season Updates

2023 Book of Golf

The Book of Golf has everything you need to know about the 2023 golf season. The book is now available online, be sure to check it out.

Tee Times

Tee times are now open and can be made online from the Member Site and the Promontory app or by contacting either of the golf shops at (435) 333-4218 (Dye) or (435) 333-4720 (Painted Valley).

Early Course Conditions

The snow is melting, and we are seeing signs of green on the courses! The warmer temperatures we’ve finally been getting over the past 10 days have helped significantly with the snow melt. The vole damage is significant this year and we are also seeing some snow mold on the fairways and tees, which will take some time to recover. That being said, the greens are looking pretty good. Next week, we will provide a full agronomy update on the status of all three of our courses and with updates on anticipated course openings. We are presently targeting early June to get the first course open for play, weather and course conditions permitting. We have full crews on site working and will do our best to get the courses open for play as soon as conditions permit.

Live Music at the Shed
Wyatt Lowe and the Mayhem Kings

Saturday, May 20th
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on The Shed Patio
Seating at the Shed is on a first come first served basis

Join us for dinner and drinks at the Shed with an intimate, stripped down acoustic performance from Wyatt Lowe and his trio The Mayhem Kings.

Wyatt Lowe and the Mayhem Kings have taken the torch that was late 60s and early 70s rock & blues and has presented a new era of rock music, fueled by both a love for earlier era classics and his passion for music. With potent and powerful chops, they are paving a new road for this generation and those to come.
