Nicklaus Painted Valley Golf Course

promontory golf

Jack Nicklaus designed this links-style masterpiece to ensure stirring challenges with every round.

At 8,098 yards, the Signature Nicklaus Painted Valley Course is one of the most challenging courses to play, and one of the longest in the nation. Large open fairways and undulating greens make this course challenging for even the best of handicaps. Golf Digest ranked the Painted Valley Golf Course at Promontory the Third Best “New Private Course” in the U.S. in 2007. Jack Nicklaus designed the Painted Valley Golf Course in a links style to flow alongside a stream, through Promontory’s high-altitude valleys.

promontory Golf Travis Gilbert

Travis grew up with a love for golf that was cultivated early on the greens of upstate New York in Syracuse, where he spent countless weekends honing his skills and developing a passion for the game. His dedication paid off as he pursued his education at SUNY Delhi, graduating from the esteemed golf program with flying colors. Throughout his time there, he proudly represented the school on the golf course, playing all four years of college golf and leaving a mark as a skilled and dedicated athlete including Medalist at the Hamilton Invitational in 2006.

Following his final internship at Sleepy Hollow Country Club in New York, Travis felt the pull of the west and decided to embark on a new adventure in Arizona. He found himself at The Rim Club in Payson, where he immersed himself in the vibrant golf community and embraced the mountainous desert landscape. Driven by a desire for growth and new experiences, Travis followed his mentor to Park Meadows Country Club in Park City, Utah. Surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Wasatch Mountains, he found himself at home in the heart of the Rockies. When he isn’t on the golf course, Travis can be found casting a line into a mountain stream, teeing off on scenic courses, or enjoying the great outdoors through camping adventures, albeit with a touch of luxury – or “glamping,” as he affectionately calls it.

But Travis’s greatest joy is from sharing these experiences with his beloved wife, Michelle, whom he has been happily married to for four years. Together, they embark on countless adventures, explore new destinations, and create cherished memories with their loyal canine companions by their side.
