When Promontory members Carlos and Christina Trapaga accepted a weekend invitation to spend time at Promontory, in Park City, Utah with their good friends Ricardo and Carla Saade, they had no idea they would fall in love with one of the beautifully designed Trappers’ Cabins the following day.
The moment Carlos walked in the door and set eyes on the extraordinary mountain views, he told his friends, “Take me to buy something now!”   Carlos wasn’t joking and within minutes he and Christina were previewing homes at Promontory. They immediately found their ideal Trapper’s Cabin just a few homes down the road from their dear friends, the Saades.

“It was love at first sight!” exclaimed Christina, as they closed the week of Valentine’s Day 2013.  It wouldn’t be long before they would be back to visit.  In fact, they travel to Promontory regularly, often 5-6 times a year during peak times in Park City such as holidays, summer, New Year’s and during the Sundance Film Festival.
Holiday traditions with their family and friends were quickly established through each of these special trips, a favorite being Chef Donovan’s turkey dinner delivered right to their doorstep.  “The meal was delicious and complete, and the staff was very accommodating.” say Christina and her husband Carlos, who own a food distribution business and can be quite the food critics.

Last year, Christina’s parents and the Saades celebrated Thanksgiving dinner together as her father told the story of the pilgrims long ago to their three children who also are best friends with the Saades’ three children.  “Promontory staff made it so easy and convenient; all we had to do was put it in the dishes and serve.”  Oven-roasted turkey, homemade cranberry sauce, gourmet sausage stuffing, sweet potato casserole, garlic mashed potatoes and choices of sweet, tantalizing pies completed the traditional meal.

Their Cabin’s charm and majestic views along with their dearly loved ones were within arm’s reach to paint the perfect Thanksgiving dinner for the Trapagas.  One could only guess the many things that were mentioned as they went around the table sharing what they were thankful for.  For mom dinner was a breeze, for dad a new home with a view, for the kids all of the fabulous amenities and for the grandparents,it was the pleasure of multiple generations together for Thanksgiving as they watched their family’s smiling faces.
There is something for everyone in the family at Promontory. The kids find themselves at The Shed whenever they can.  The moms find bliss at the Spa and the new Adult Lap Pool.  Dads play basketball with the kids or bowl, fly fish and watch movies in the 50-seat movie theater.  Everyone meets for lunch at The Shed or a fabulous dinner at the Hearth Grille.  The family hits the fitness center every day, make tracks at the ice skating rink and spray champagne powder as they ski the slopes at Deer Valley resort using Promontory’s complimentary shuttle service.
