Farewell To Tom Rogers Promontory's Director of Golf Instruction

“What a lucky man I am to have had so many amazing chapters in my 47-year professional career – Augusta National, Grandfather Golf & CC, Charlotte CC and Mountain Air. While I certainly have a special place in my heart for all of those Clubs, none rank any higher than what Promontory Club and the past 10 years have meant to me. Huge THANK YOU to Francis, Robin, Val, Rich Sonntag, UTPGA, all the young professionals I’ve worked with and especially to the Promontory membership for the support, respect and generosity shown me.

I excitedly look toward wherever the roads in my future will go, hopefully our paths will cross whenever I have the chance to visit Utah and Promontory.”
______________

We all have until October 15th to make sure to stop by and wish a fond farewell & thank Tom for his many years of service at Promontory. Tom’s instruction and steady voice on the driving range have certainly helpedmany of us improve our golf game, and if not, learn to love the game however we play!

Please join us this Thursday, October 3rd from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm at our Member Mixer when we will give Tom a proper send-off.

Feel free to reach out to Tom personally via email.

Meet Peppy! Peppy is the star pony of Club Unicorn and has been very busy this summer teaching boys and girls in lesson packages, summer camp, and Club Unicorn pony rides. Peppy is a large pony, approximately 23 years old and has been with Promontory for several years. Peppy enjoys turnout with his girlfriend, Bellanishka -owned by Sue Gillett, grazing on our grass field, and is an important member of the Promontory school horse string.

Member Trip To The Masters

Promontory’s Masters trip sure was one for the ages, capped off by an historical win by Tiger Woods!

We started our trip in Atlanta, Georgia where we played 2 rounds of golf including at the world renown Atlanta Athletic Club, it sure didn’t disappoint. From Atlanta, we took off to Augusta where we were able to attend Wednesday’s practice round and Par 3 challenge. We were spoiled that day with perfect weather and lots of laughs from the players and their kids who were their caddies for the day. The next two days we enjoyed the excitement of championship golf and the stunning beauty of Augusta National Golf Club. We had the pleasure of hanging out and having dinner with tour player Kevin Kisner on Thursday night. Kisner ended up finishing in 21st place. He was a great guy and definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

We have a couple of member trips scheduled for the upcoming year!
