The Wire 5/30/2022- Promontory’s Newsletter

The Week Of May 30, 2022

Our weekly newsletter for all things Promontory!

The Summer season is stacked full of new, fun & memorable experiences and events for families, friends, and new connections!

Please Note

  • We have discovered an issue with the original ceiling construction in our Nicklaus Fitness Center and have had to close while we make the necessary repairs. We are locating the proper contractor for the work and expect it will take several weeks to complete. While the repairs are being done, our membership can continue to use the Village Clubhouse Fitness Facilities which are open 6:00 am to 8:00 pm daily. With the building closed, we need to cancel the Saturday Aerial Yoga classes as this is the only place with the proper anchors for this activity. We have moved the Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday TRX classes back to the Village Clubhouse for now and signups may continue by following the link below. We will update the membership as the project progresses.
  • Crack & seal work has begun on roadway in the Nicklaus Painted Valley neighborhoods. Over the next week, the road contractors will be finishing the crack and seal in preparation for the annual spring road slurry and striping.

Village Clubhouse, Pool, & Playground Refresh - Update

  • The Village Family pool & hot tubs opened this past weekend and The Hot Spot Cafe is open daily.
  • The Kids’ Club new playground equipment is now scheduled to arrive for installation this week followed by the new rubberized surface installation. Planned reopening is early June. We will open the Adventure Trail and Slide simultaneous with the playground opening as access to that area is restricted during construction due to safety concerns with the children.

To date, the Promontory Foundation has had a $4.75 million impact on the community through its donations and required matching grants. 2021 was our best fundraising event to date, raising $330,000 that was donated to 27 different local non-profits. Letter from the Conservancy
Water-Wise Community Efforts

If you couldn’t join us for the Water-Wise Presentation with Mountain Regional Water and Utah State University Professor, Kelly Kopp, Ph.D. You can check out the video below.

The presentation and information shared were excellent and so informative. Please take some time to review the video and get updated on both the current state of water in our area and how you can help conserve.

Video Access Code: ^j.1i+vq

As part of our focused attention on water and Utah’s extreme drought condition, we are strongly asking that all homeowners please review your home irrigation systems and be sure that you are limiting your watering and have a smart irrigation system with flow meter installed. Suggestions for a couple of affordable smart watering systems are included in the Conservancy’s water-wise letter linked below.

If you have not done so already, please take a few minutes to read about the Conservancy’s efforts in making Promontory a water-wise community and what action is required on your part. Please note that our Design Guidelines have been updated to reflect new requirements for water-wise landscaping as well. There is a lot that you can do to slow the flow, especially as the local water districts are enacting cutbacks this year.
