PCFD Controlled Burn Day
Today, Monday, February 3rd at The Equestrian Center
A few weeks ago the Conservancy announced its preparations for a controlled burn of organic material. With the direction of state and local fire authorities, the Conservancy has scheduled this event for the morning of Monday, February 3rd.
With the oversight and assistance of the State of Utah and Park City Fire District, the Conservancy will conduct a controlled burn of a large collection of organic matter near the Equestrian Center as part of the Conservancy’s efforts to reduce hazardous fire fuels
As owners within the community, there are a few things you need to know:
- You are invited to watch! We invite Promontory owners to visit the site on the day of the burn, where fire officials will be available to answer questions and offer further education on the process. Please do not bring anything to add to the pile. Your trash, clippings, Christmas trees, etc. will not be accepted and you will be asked to dispose of it elsewhere.
- The total burn time is expected to take several hours. During that time Conservancy staff will be learning proper burning technique for future burns. Fire professionals will be onsite through the whole event for proper monitoring
and containment. - Do not call dispatch or emergency response to report the fire. They will be aware of the burn and appreciate not being alerted when it is not an emergency. There may be some smoke smell through the community, but by doing the burn under ideal weather and wind conditions it should be minimal. We do not expect the pile to smolder excessively after the burn. If you have any questions that day please contact Joe Ellis.
- As part of the community’s Firewise plan, the Conservancy may offer complimentary pickup of certain homeowner organic material for future burns. The scope of that service has not been decided, but the State has suggested this as a responsible way to reduce hazardous fuels throughout Promontory.
The department of Forestry, Fire and State Lands has assessed this project and believes this to be an ideal way to manage fallen vegetation going forward.

Uploading Your Photo To ForeTees
As a measure to ensure that this amazing club retains its exclusivity, for several months we have been requesting that people check in at certain venues like the Ranch Clubhouse, the Beach House, and The Shed. The next step in helping us do that is requiring that all Members add their Photo to the ForeTees app. (If you prefer not to use the app we can add your photo at the Concierge Desk to appear in our point of sale. This provides security to deter-erroneous charges made to a Members account.)
To upload your photo to the ForeTees – Club Central App
Open the app and tap the “More” tab in the bottom, right-hand side. Once on the “More” tab, tap the “+” next to the round photo in the center of the screen. Here you will be prompted to upload any photo of your choice or take a new photo. Once the photo has been submitted, it may take up to 24 hours for our staff to approve the photo.
If you are unable to upload your photo to the app, please stop by the concierge desk to have your photo taken and uploaded to our system.
