Promontory Member Super Bowl Commercial Contest
Congratulations To The OShinksy’s’ And Nathan Drury

According to Adweek they are ranking the best, worst and most controversial Super Bowl Ads

In addition to the movie trailers, the This Is Us commercials and the actual game, NBC aired a ton of new advertisements during the Sunday, February 4, Super Bowl. Us Weekly spoke with Adweek Editorial Director James Cooper to find out his take on the best and the worst from the big game.

Here’s his top four ads of the night, with his reasons for why they work:

  1. Tide: Elegantly co-ops the concept of the Super Bowl and not pre-teased at all. Funny, great celeb pitchman (David Harbour) and ubiquitous with ads in all four quarters.
    2. Amazon: A funny, celeb-filled ad underscoring how quickly Voice has become so central to our lives.
    3. Doritos/Mountain Dew: Great celeb paring and energy.
    4. Budweiser: Focused on people in disaster areas in the need of the basic staple

Again, Congratulations to our members, Oshinksy’s and Nathan Drury!

Promontory Member Maddy Olsen Is Competing In The Olympics!
Thursday, February 15th

In 2007 at the age of 12, Maddy Olsen, began competing in mogul skiing. At the age of 14, she transitioned to aerials. The next year her father was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma cancer and was given “months” to live. After hearing the news he sat down with his kids and set goals with each of them: he wanted to teach his two youngest daughters how to ride a bike, see his son (also a world-class skier) graduate high school, and help his oldest daughter, Maddy, accomplish her dream of competing in the Olympics.

In 2012 at the age of 16, Maddy won the women’s U.S. National Aerials Championship title. In 2014 Maddy shattered her foot landing a jump during training and lost two seasons of jumping. After a difficult and long recovery, she was able to compete again the winter of 2015-2016 and she placed 3rd at the Moscow World Cup event.

After an amazing six-year battle her father passed away the summer of 2016. The following season Maddy placed 5th at the Women’s Aerials World Championships in Spain and on January 22, 2018, Maddy was officially notified she would be joining the 2018 U.S. Olympic Freestyle Team in PyeongChang!!

Let’s send Maddy lots of positive vibes from Promontory and cheer her on as she takes to the slopes! You can watch Maddy compete this Thursday, February 15th, and Friday, February 16th on NBC

The Lee / Ostertag Family

The Lees and Ostertags spent their ski vacation every year in Deer Valley for 14 years until they discovered Promontory! It was a happy accident that they found Promontory while thumbing through a Park City Magazine and when they saw all of the amenities and the Alpine Lodge at Silver Lake, they were sold!
