Summer is in Full Swing

promontory's nicklaus Painted valley golf course reopens

It’s beginning to feel a lot like summer in Park City! As many locals say, they initially came for the winter but stay for the summers. Steven and I teed off the season with a round of golf on the Nicklaus Painted Valley Golf Course of which our home has a tremendous view. We had a great time despite feeling a bit rusty on our swings! I am thinking I may need to get out with Promontory golf pro, Tom Rogers, sooner than later, so I can maximize the golf season!

We closed the day with some après golf at The Peak. The gorgeous, modern restaurant has debuted its inventive summer menu, and we were thrilled to be among the first to try some of the Asian-inspired culinary offerings. We began by sharing the Lobster roll because it’s nearly impossible to dine here without having sushi! And we thought we had some of the best sushi in Southern California! For his entrée, Steve enjoyed the Tomahawk grilled pork chop, which was beautifully presented with charcoal gnocchi, wilted summer greens, and Jack Daniels Caramel Sauce. I chose the roasted striped Marlin because it’s a fish that is rarely offered in Utah. It was served with tofu, lardons, mushroom, and a black garlic butter. Both our meal and the service were perfectly divine! It’s fun getting to know the wonderful, friendly staff. We can’t wait to return with the kids and friends for some al fresco dining on the beautiful patio when it’s a bit warmer.

Before hitting the golf course, we happened to notice new signage for Elk Ridge Heights. We hadn’t heard about this new Promontory neighborhood, so we were a bit intrigued. And then just yesterday, we received an emailed member letter giving us the scoop!

Elk Ridge Heights is named for the elk herd that makes this its stomping grounds, consists of 17 exclusive homesites with the most incredible, expansive views of the iconic Wasatch Mountains. Situated at the heart of Promontory, it bridges together our community’s two award-winning golf courses while directly overlooking the Dye Canyon Course. These stunning home lots are also close to The Beach House (which opens May 25th), Saddle Lake Park, and the Tubing Hill. Yesterday, I caught an interview on Park City’s local radio station, KPCW, with the President of the Park City Board of Realtors giving a recap of first-quarter sales. He mentioned that lot sales are up in Summit County as homeowners’ desire for new construction increases.

Promontory is generous about inviting existing members and their friends to take advantage of a super attractive Launch Day incentive package from May 21 to July 14. If we hadn’t recently moved into our golf villa, I can see that this would be an amazing way to upgrade by building a custom home on one of these lots. I secretly hope there is one still available when we are ready to do so, but I imagine these will be in high demand! In the meantime, I think it would be wonderful to have the opportunity to design a home that is built here. What a pristine location for a Park City vacation home or primary residence…I think there will be a lot of buyers ready for The Ridge!
