The Lang family has lived and traveled all over the world but Park City remains one of their favorite places!

Tom’s father was a career Marine so in Tom’s early years he lived on many different military bases in the US and even a couple of years in Japan.  He was an only child but made friends easily with his outgoing and friendly personality. After graduating from San Diego State University, he became a Marine officer and served in Vietnam before settling in Southern California.  He worked for IBM for 12 years before starting his own Executive Business Center business.  He sold the business in 2002 and has since been involved in several entrepreneurial ventures.  He loves helping young entrepreneurs and is passionate about giving back to our veterans. He has served on several community and civic boards and is currently a board member of the San Diego State University Entrepreneurial Center as well as the SDSU Veterans Center.

Linda grew up in Northern California with four siblings.  Linda’s business career started after graduating from the University of California, Berkeley.  She worked for Bechtel Engineering for five years before moving from San Francisco to San Diego. She found a job in the accounting and finance department at Jack in the Box, Inc. in 1984.  Expecting it to be a stepping stone to another company she ended up staying at Jack in the Box for 30 years.  She held several positions at the company in finance, marketing, and operations and ultimately became Chairman of the Board and CEO in 2005 until her retirement in 2014. It was a rewarding and wonderful career but she has never looked back after retirement. Linda supports several organizations that help at risk youth gain confidence and life skills such as Pro Kids/First Tee of San Diego and The Preuss School.

Tom and Linda packed their bags for Sydney to celebrate New Year’s the first day of Linda’s retirement. After almost five years of retirement their suitcases never stay empty for long as they travel between residences in Rancho Santa Fe, Lanai, and Park City.  They love to travel with family and friends and feel fortunate to live in some of the best places in the world.

Tom and Linda met 22 years ago when mutual friends set them up on a blind date.  It really was love at first sight! They each have two sons, Chris lives in Phoenix, Nathan and Michael live in San Diego, and Jake lives in Orange County. Their grandchildren, Clint, 15 and Kensey, 13 live in Phoenix. Kensey was a regular at the kids club before she became a “teenager”.

The Langs traveled to Park City to ski in the 90s and always loved the town, the snow, and the people. They were introduced to Promontory by close friends and ended up buying a Trapper Cabin in 2012. After buying in Promontory they discovered the beauty of Park City in the summer. They love to golf, hike, attend concerts, and dine out. “This community is very dog friendly so we love bringing Rico here to play with his buddies in the neighborhood. We hope to spend more time here in the future and never take for granted how fortunate we are to live in a community that is beautiful, safe, and vibrant.”
