The Dernicks hold golf and skiing at the very top of their list and have been skiing the Park City resorts for over 40 years. When they found Promontory it was a no-brainer they wanted to make it their home away from home.

Bob and Christine (Chris) grew up in the same city in Calgary, Alberta and even belonged to the same golf club but never met at that time. They were lined up on a blind date at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton and this past July 5th celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary! After they married they moved to The Woodlands, TX and have been there ever since. Bob has practiced Dentistry for 38 years and Chris has enjoyed being the homemaker of the family. They have three children; Lisa, Dan, and Lizann and all three grew up playing competitive golf around the country.

Their oldest daughter, Lisa Hardy, who you may frequently see around Promontory, attended the University of Texas on a golf scholarship and transferred after her 2nd year to play golf for BYU and continued her studies in communications. She and her husband, Rex, live in Jeremy Ranch in Park City with their four children, Rawson, Camden, Elle, and Savannah. They love coming up to Promontory regularly since they live so close!

Their son, Dan, followed in his father’s footsteps in Dentistry at the University of Texas. He practices dentistry in the Memorial area of Houston and lives in Katy, Texas with his wife and two sons, James and Andrew.

Lizann also attended BYU on a golf scholarship and studied sports management until she found a passion for cooking and graduated from Culinary School at UVA. A few months later she decided to follow her dad and brother in the dental field studying Dental Hygiene. She lives just around the corner from her parents in The Woodlands with her husband and daughter.

As their children grew and married, Bob and Chris became more involved in two junior golf programs, AJGA & USGA. You may remember the AJGA Junior Championship that Promontory hosted on the Dye Course in June… it was thanks to Chris and Lisa that Promontory was able to host the world’s best female junior golfers.

The Dernick family loves spending time together snow skiing, golfing, fly fishing and they are also auto racing enthusiasts. Formula One is definitely a family favorite!
