Peggy is a full-time member and loves living in Promontory! She’s a face you will frequently see at Promontory events and dining in our restaurants as well as supporting the arts and many Park City non-profits.

She is originally from Texas and stayed in her home state to attend Texas Christian University where she graduated with a degree in fashion design and a minor in art. Once graduated she realized it was hard to support herself with a fashion degree so she decided to go back to TCU to get her MBA. She received her MBA in 1976 then got a job at a bank in Dallas where she met her husband, David, who was an investment banker. His job took them to LA in 1980 where they lived for 12 years and had two children, Katherine and John, then in 1991 they moved the family to St. Louis. Peggy and David were married for 26 years until David passed away in 2004.

Skiing was always one of their favorite things to do together as a family. Peggy and David started coming to Park City in the early 80s and continued coming year after year with the kids. She never thought that her favorite ski destination would soon become her home. In 2007 she moved to Promontory and it didn’t take long for her kids to follow her out here. Her oldest, Katherine, currently lives in an apartment in Kimball Junction with her 19-month-old daughter, Brooklyn and works in retail. Her son, John, lived in Park City for several years but in 2014 Peggy endured another tragedy when he died far too young at the age of just 27.

To deal with the loss of her husband and son, for many years Peggy has focused her time and energy on giving back. She was a Sundance Institute and National Ability Center board member, she’s a part of the Pharaoh Club at The Egyptian Theatre, she hosts dinners to raise money for local Park City non-profits, and more recently she reunited with her love of ballet to bring Ballet West, the elite Salt Lake City based dance company, to Park City so aspiring students would be able to study classical ballet like she did from age 5 – 20. The academy is appropriately named, The Peggy Bergmann Ballet West Academy. She is also passionate about photography, painting, music, and if you’re ever lucky enough to go to her house you’ll be privy to her beautiful work.

Peggy is so happy that what was once a completely second-home community is now a place where so many of her friends live full-time.

We love having you in our community, Peggy and so glad your favorite ski destination became your home.
