The McLoughlin Family

The McLoughlins are a family who love golfing, hiking, fly fishing, skiing, biking, snowshoeing, art, eating out, games, and socializing so building a second home in Promontory was a no-brainer.
Tom and Cynthia are both from New York, Cynthia grew up in the foothills of the Adirondacks and Tom was raised in Queens. Tom and Cynthia’s brother went to college together and when they met at her brother’s wedding it was love at first sight. Over the years they have lived mostly on the coasts; New York, Washington D.C., Virginia, Connecticut, and the East Bay of San Francisco. They have two kids who are both out of college and working. Lauren is a Grants Assistant at The Simons Foundation in New York City and Connor is a mechanical engineer at Air Systems in San Jose, CA.
Tom and Cynthia have been bringing their kids to Park City since they were little for winter and summer trips. Fast forward to 2004 when Promontory Club contacted them to come out and tour the club. They fell in love and bought a lot in Lookout Ridge and then five years later built their second home in West View. A big selling point for them was how easy it was to get to Park City from the East Bay compared to Tahoe were they were currently skiing.
They still keep a place in NYC because Tom works in the city and travels a lot for his job with UBS. Cynthia has always loved painting, drawing, and creating things in general. She graduated from Parson’s School of Design and worked as a fashion designer for many years in NYC and the DC area but took a break while raising the kids. She’s now resumed her creative career and is SO excited to have her artwork sold in the new Summit Gallery located right here in Park City! If you’ll be in town be sure to put the Summit Gallery’s Opening Night Party on your calendar: November 30th, 7-9pm located at 675 Main Street. You can also see Cynthia’s artwork on her website at cynthiamcloughlin.com
