Mountain sunsets in Promontory and lake sunsets in Chaska, Minnesota, the Sankovitzes enjoy two of the best evening views from the balconies of their homes. James, Kristin, Frank, and Luke closed on their Promontory home on March 23, 2016 – Franks’ 9th birthday.
Jim, from Minnesota, and Kristin, from Iowa, met while attending the University of Minnesota Law School. After graduation the engaged couple started at the same law firm. Jim practiced law in corporate finance but is now a”recovering attorney and entrepreneur” and enjoys working with early stage companies in structure and finance. His current projects are a Guntry Club (gun range + country club) in Minnesota and gluten free vodka and rum. Kristin practiced law for 8 years in real estate development and was also an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota Law School for 13 years. She retired when they had kids and now stays busy volunteering in Frank and Luke’s schools, playing tennis and golf (she was on the first women’s golf team at Northwestern University), and enjoys going to bible study.
Frank is an athletic 11-year-old in the 5th grade. He plays competitive lacrosse and soccer and is on the swim team. He likes to fish, ski, snowshoe, snowmobile, mountain bike, hike, waterski, horseback ride, and go on walks with his family and their dog, Ruby. Luke is 8 and is enjoying his year in the 2nd grade. His favorite sport is soccer and he loves playing on his competitive team. He also likes to ski, swim, hike, and play flag football. Both boys said their favorite restaurant is Riverhorse!
The family first came to Park City for a ski trip then years later Jim played the Dye course and fell in love. When asked why they chose Promontory Jim said, “it’s four and a half hours from dock to Dye”. An easy trek from their home on Lake Bavaria in Chaska, Minnesota to Promontory plus a summer without bugs and humidity made the purchase of their second home a no-brainer.
