Let me “SHED” some light…

I’M ROBIN MILNE, AND I INVITE YOU TO JOIN MY JOURNEY IN AND AROUND PROMONTORY CLUB IN
PARK CITY, UTAH.
I am really ready to see, first hand, ALL that Promontory has to offer. So, come with me as I start my tour of the Promontory Ranch Club. It’s an easy start, because I am in the center of the property at the Ranch Club Compound. The buildings here are comfortably nestled on an expansive high spot over-looking the grandeur of the Wasatch mountain range. I can walk from The Hub next door to The Shed, and I follow a mom and her two children in. The kids are super excited to get there, and are asking their mom if they can get a chocolate shake at the counter. The mom looks back at me with a smile, and I tell her that’s sounding good to me, too!

So, I pull the beautifully crafted iron door handle open for them, and in we go! The kids are off to their favorite spot, and honestly, I have to stand there a minute and take in what I am seeing! This is a place like no other I have ever seen. Rich textures of wood, fabric and leather – colorful, but in a muted way. It smells good and it sounds happy. To my left is the soda fountain-like food counter laded with fresh –baked goods and healthy snacks. Friendly faces are smiling and welcoming me. There is a general store in the middle and behind that I see a bowling alley, hand-crafted in wood and lush upholstered seating. Bicycle wheels are arranged in an artistic way over the alley. Neat!
To my right is a huge barn door that opens up into an indoor basketball gym – but first I have to stroll past pinball machines, shuffle board, board games and a vintage Pac-Man game table. There is not a single spot in here that isn’t dedicated to FUN! Colorful booths and tables for eating, a 360 fireplace takes center stage, and is adjacent to the local post office. Someone is now opening the other set of barn doors in the gym, and, WOW! It opens to the outside where there is a stage-like platform and then a beautiful amphitheater with lush lawn terraces. This is truly magic in the mountains! Every Friday in the summer, members gather to enjoy a complimentary concert, often featuring local talent.

So, back inside, I explore the other end of The Shed with the pool tables and sports bar feel. This area leads to another patio that features a perimeter fire-trough against a glass wall that looks out to Park City Mountain. Oh, I‘ve seen this pictured in many of the Promontory brochures. Amazing spot! But, wait, down the hall is a 25-person movie theater, and continuing on to the Art Studio! I seriously can’t take in all that this amenity has to offer families at Promontory. It turns out The Shed is award-winning in design and function! Designed by architect, John E. Sather, a partner of Scottsdale-based Swaback Partners with interiors and amenities imagined by Donna Vallone of Scottsdale, Arizona, The Shed Clubhouse has won the prestigious 2013 Gold Nugget Award its newest amenity, presented at the Pacific Coast Builder’s Conference in San Diego for “Best Special Use Building.”
The Shed is only one of MANY amenities at Promontory Ranch Club. I can’t wait to show you the rest! But, if you agree that The Shed has what you are looking for when you imagine the perfect family gathering place, I hope you will send me an email at rmilne@promontoryclub.com and schedule a visit in person. Maybe Promontory is exactly the right place for you and your family!
