Meet Kali Quick, Head Golf Professional at the new Hills Golf Course at Promontory
This week, we had the chance to sit down and chat with Kali Quick, Promontory’s new Head Pro at The Hills course. Listening to Kali talk about her background, golf experience, and passion for the game has everyone at Promontory, especially those of us who spend our days in the pro shop and dreaming of hitting the links, extremely excited to call this new golf phenom one of Promontory’s own.
From First Grader to Phenom
Kali began playing golf at the age of 5, in Nampa, Idaho. She had a successful junior golf career with Two Women’s State Am Titles, a high school state title, US Junior Girls Championships and Publinks Championships played. Everything as a junior player contributed to her securing a full-ride, Division 1 scholarship to Kansas State University. After graduation, her passion for golf drove her to become a PGA Professional and begin a precedent-setting career as a Head Pro and consummate teacher of the game.
In 2010, Kali became the first female Head Golf Pro in the state of Idaho, at Lakeview Golf Club in Meridian. With an opportunity she could not resist, Kali moved to the First Assistant Golf Professional position at Shooting Star in Jackson Hole, WY. After working for three years at the highly ranked Fazio club, she went on to become the first female Head Pro in the state of Wyoming, as the Director of Golf at the esteemed Tom Weiskopf-designed Snake River Sporting Club in Jackson from 2014 through 2018. Kali was on hand to open the facility as a new course, establish its #2 ranking with Golf Digest, and was in charge of developing all the member golf events and club programming. From there, Kali ascended to become the Director of Golf at Spanish Peaks Mountain Club in Big Sky, Montana. Our new Head Pro knows mountain golf!
Golfer. Teacher. Mentor.
In addition to her ability to successfully run a vibrant golf operation, Kali just loves everything about the game of golf. She is passionate about instruction, coaching, tournament operations, building a strong golf team and creating lasting member experiences. She has always had a strong desire to help other golfers improve their overall game, hone their skill on the green, and get them the results they’re looking for. Says Quick, “I love getting to know people and I love helping them enjoy the game of golf.”
She is looking forward to the opportunity to meet and build relationships with members through her position at the new Hills Golf Course at Promontory. She will use her demonstrated knowledge of high-level competitive golf, diverse operational knowledge, and coaching experience to bring a positive energy and impact to the course and its members, guests, and staff.
Par- 3 Perfection
Kali is thrilled to join Promontory and open the new 18-hole, par-3 course, because she knows The Hills complex will elevate golf at Promontory and make the game fun, faster and easier for beginners to learn the game. The course is a perfect venue for tournaments and family events, and offers members the opportunity to focus on their short game. With a soft opening slated for mid-June, Kali will be busy! In addition to the opening, Kali will also be front and center for the opening of the 18-hole Cascade Greens putting course, new clubhouse and pro shop, four indoor simulator bays with Trackman 4 technology, Golf Academy, and TaylorMade fitting center. Kali is extremely excited to join the Promontory team, make the move to Park City, and have a great opening season at The Hills ¬– Promontory’s first new course since the Nicklaus Signature Painted Valley course opened in 2007.
