Cultural Highlights of Park City
No community can ever consider itself to be truly complete, or alive, without a bustling arts and theater scene. Fortunately for residents of Park City – and visitors to the famous mountain town – it has a truly vibrant, cultural heart beating in its center, with the Sundance Film Festival being a just one example of the caliber of artistic entertainment within our city.
The majority of theater performances and plays in Park City take place in either the Eccles Center or The Egyptian Theater:
Eccles Center
No two nights in the Eccles Center are ever the same, thanks in no small part to its eclectic range of acts. You will find something here to please your artistic taste in Park City. There are modern ballet repertories, award-winning musical acts on tour, spoken word acts on tour, and memorable evenings at the theater.
The Center operates year-round, and affordable tickets are can be purchased online. The Eccles Center is located a short drive away from Promontory in Park City’s downtown district.
Egyptian Theater
This classic theater is located on Main Street in Park City, in the heart of the city and its cultural scene. The acts you’ll find at the Egyptian Theater are usually a little more mainstream than in the Eccles Center, with a mixture of classic theater, stand-up comedy acts, and some of the very best musical acts offered anywhere in the country. You can also book your tickets online for any of the shows.
Both of these theaters are supported by the local community, who understand the importance of the arts and their role in creating the city’s character. This also means there are ample opportunities to become involved, at a deeper level, in the Park City arts scene.
If you’re looking for a family night out to enjoy more “accessible” art, then the Egyptian Theater is a great choice. If, on the other hand, you’re looking for something a little more cerebral, then the acts at the Eccles Center may suit your needs.
If you’re visiting Promontory and want to plan a theater night out with your family, or friends, then you’ll be pleased to know that both of these theaters are located just minutes from the Club itself. This means you can easily plan a night out, without worrying about traveling for hours to and from the theater and back home. The Promontory concierge staff is eager to assist our members with any cultural activities in Park City. It can be difficult to achieve the best of all worlds, and at the Promontory Club, we do our best to make that happen on a regular basis.
