Leap into Adventure from Promontory Outfitter’s Cabin.

The Outfitter’s Cabin is so much more than a hiking mountain cabin—it’s a jumping off point for camping, fly fishing, snowshoeing, backcountry skiing, rafting, kayaking and just about any other outdoor activity you can experience in the Utah wilderness.

Promontory’s outfitter, Sean Smith, is a local Parkite, a former Olympic skier and an avid outdoorsmen with years of experience. He will take care of all the gear and planning for your adventure and then guide you effortlessly through your day, whether it’s on the river or on the slopes. You get to spend your time and energy outdoors focused on having fun with the ones you love.

Fly Fishing

Learn how to fly cast at Outfitter’s Pond, then hit one of the local blue-ribbon rivers and land a trout. The Provo and Weber rivers are the most popular, but there’s an abundance of small streams and honey holes you can find with the help of our outfitter.

Mountain Biking

Jump on a bike and hit the trails. It’s a great way to see Promontory and experience the outdoors. Bike along Promontory’s private trails or test your skills out in the surrounding mountains.

Water Sports

It’s not just about mountains here. Let us take you and your family out for a day on our Mastercraft X-45 wakeboard boat learning to water ski, wakeboard, or just inner-tube and lounge about.

Ski Excursions

The great skiing is what brings many to Utah in the first place. For our outfitter, Sean Smith, skiing is serious fun. He will take you and your family for a day on any one of our nearby resorts and help you improve your downhill or snowboarding skills, whatever your skill level. For a more rigorous workout, glide through this winter paradise on a guided cross-country skiing excursion.

Gourmet Cooking/BBQ

The Outfitter’s Cabin is also equipped for gourmet cooking classes. Learn how to spice up a Thanksgiving meal or put together a special Valentine’s menu. Let Promontory Executive Chef Ryker Brown teach you how to grill like a pro. Promontory members enjoy eating well—whether at our restaurants or in their own homes.
