Golf is for all Ages, Skill Levels and Experience at our
Park City Par-60 Golf Course.
The two courses currently open at Promontory each have a unique design, purpose and challenge to offer golfers. These differences reflect our mission to be the leading luxury family community in the world. We know that not everyone wants the "gotta land it on the green just right" challenge of our Jack Nicklaus course, or they just may not have the time to play a full 18 holes on a traditional course.
Promontory's next course, a Forrest Richardson design, meets the changing nature of golf, golf instruction and players' needs in a unique short-course format. The par-60 golf course designed by Forrest Richardson Short Course is located at the southwest end of Promontory, near the state-of-the-art Equestrian Center, and mixes par-3 and par-4 holes with one 645-yard, par-5. The course, has been designed with 19 holes to create flexibility for members to be able to play a six-, nine-, or 18-hole course. The plans also feature an 18-hole putting course, a full-service driving range and what will be the community’s flagship practice and teaching facility.
A fourth course by Tom Weiskopf Design, yet to be named and routed, sits at the south end of Promontory, below the Nicklaus course, overlooking Brown’s Canyon and adjacent to the eastern edge of Park City. Much like its predecessors at Promontory, the Weiskopf course will be set among rolling hills, aspens and spacious views, offering breathtaking, scintillating scenes of Deer Valley Ski Resort and the Uinta Mountain range. This course will also be complemented by a distinctive clubhouse, which will be built following completion of the course.
Tom Weiskopf won 16 times in 29 years on the PGA Tour, highlighted by his 1973 British Open title. He also was a four-time runner-up at the Masters and was the 1976 U.S. Open runner-up. He played on the U.S. Ryder Cup team in 1973 and 1975 and joined the Senior Tour in 1993, winning the 1995 U.S. Senior Open and four other events. Weiskopf was named Golf World’s co-Architect of the Year in 1996 and has successfully designed and opened courses worldwide.
Forrest Richardson attended Phoenix College and studied golf course architecture at the University of Dundee in Scotland before establishing his design firm, Forrest Richardson & Associates, in 1988. His firm, of which he is president, has designed more than 60 completed courses.
