Promontory families and staff have joined together in an effort to help local charities this holiday season. Beyond the Promontory Foundation, which donates thousands of dollars to local charities, Promontory’s kids cabin offers additional seasonal projects.
This year November was set aside to collect canned goods to help with the Summit & Wasatch County food pantry. Promontory kids helped deliver the canned goods and stock shelves. The food pantry serves close to 25,000 people in both counties each year. http://www.ccofpc.org/resources/food-pantry/
Becoming a holiday helper is always fun for kids and their families. This year Promontory staff and families helped children from the Goshute Indian Reservation.
The reservation, located 70 miles south east of Wendover Utah is home to over 85 children in need. Through coordination with Park City’s Christian Center, Promontory and other local organizations the children will have a wonderful holiday. Promontory children shopped and wrapped the gifts. Our Promontory families from around the country got involved. Angie from New Jersey shopped with her mom and then shipped the gifts to Park City where they were delivered.
Giving back to community has always been one of Promontory’s guiding principles. The establishment of Promontory’s Foundation and projects through the kids cabin proves the dedication Promontory has for the surrounding area and the state as a whole. This season its all about making the season brighter!
