Tacos for Haiti! Promontory Kids serve up a Recipe for a Successful Fund Raiser

Promontory kids  came up with an idea to raise money for children in Haiti. By having a restaurant at the kids cabin they invited adults from around the property to come and pay for a meal which was cooked and served by kids. That’s just what they did!

Naming the restaurant was no problem since the kids wanted to serve Mexican food. They called it The Green Frog Mexican restaurant. (Two of their favorite pets at the cabin are two green frogs!)

The kids took phone reservations, had tables set up and plenty of tacos for everyone. With a restaurant host, chefs in the kitchen and wait staff the restrant was the busiest spot on property!

The kid themed cantina was a big hit with everyone and that’s where they made their money!  Money raised will help a non profit charity called lifegivingforce.  The charity helps communities with water systems in Haiti. The nonprofit is headed by one of our own promontory members.

The kids have also raised funds to help feed baby elephant Zuri who has made her home at Utah’s Hogle Zoo. Service to the local community and to non profits who have impacted the community are a long time tradition at Promontory. Children activities targeting service to the community is one of the many ways the kids cabin supports and helps build lasting memories for children at Promontory.
