Movie camp had all the kids excited to make a cowboy western.
With the backdrop of Promontory’s Equestrian Center and the rustic look of the land the kids were ready to get into character and make a film! Kids helped write, edit and even design their own costumes!
Park City’s own Park City TV filmed and edited the western and turned the imaginations of kids into a movie never to be forgotten!
Taking a few of the old west movies as ideas, the kids named their movie Butch Calloway and the Promontory Kid. Based on a Good Cowboy and his partner who ride into town on golf carts knowing that someones been stealing those fancy “golden golf balls.”

The movie begins with the narration by Mysteriouso Mustachio, and old guitar playing bandito. Ready to find the bad guys and gals the boys hit the range to look for the guilty ones! The Rouge Riders are no match as they seem to leave their lipstick mark wherever they’ve been and the dancing girls can do nothing but giggle at the handsome duo as they try and solve the crime.
With the help of the Sheriff, played by Promontory’s own Pete Dye Canyon Superintendent, the gang goes to find the man they call Miguel and his side kick Tom!
Butch Callaway and the Promontory Kid is sure to get two thumbs up from parents and the kids when the movie premiers this next week!
Coming up this month: Join us during the month of August for more great adventures! Camps and day trips to the fishing pond, hiking and the zoo are such to keep campers busy before heading back to school!
